Collecting and Representing Data

👀 Let's look
First collect the data.
Then draw one bar for each group.
Collecting before drawing
Before you can draw a graph you have to collect the data: ask the question, count the answers, and write down how many gave each one.
Then each group gets one bar, drawn up to its count. The same width for every bar and the same gap between them, so that nothing but the height carries any meaning.
One bar per group
Not one bar per person. If twelve children chose red, that is one bar of 12 and not twelve bars.
Count the tally before you draw anything. Redrawing a bar because the count was wrong takes longer than counting twice.
