Hana's Digital Day
Hana wakes at six and her phone is already awake. Three messages wait for her, and she answers them before she leaves her room. At breakfast she reads the news on a tablet, because her father says a person should know what happened while they slept. School is different. Phones stay in bags, but the science teacher uses a smartboard, and on Tuesdays the class works in the computer room. Hana types slowly, so she practises at home for ten minutes every evening. After her homework she sometimes plays a game with her cousin in Tanta. They agree on one hour, and they stop when the hour ends. Before bed she reads an ebook with night mode on, because a bright screen keeps her awake. Hana does not think technology is good or bad. She thinks it does what you ask it to do, and that the difficult part is deciding what to ask.
